We had the fortune of seeing Gina, Chris, and Summer again! It’s been about three years but it sure didn’t seem like that long. Wow, time flies I guess!
It’s funny that we seem to only see little Summer when it’s cold! LOL!
Summer did quite well considering they were on their way to the wavepool and couldn’t wait to get there.
Fun with Daddy!
And fun with Mommy!
In the snow!
Wheeeeeeeee!
Do it again!
So I hope you had a happy birthday, Summer! It was great to see you again! Looking forward to our next meeting!
In the later stages of our amazingly warm autumn, we had a brief cool snap (not cold enough to be called “cold) but by evening time with the sun fading, and winds blowing, it was pretty darn cold! And that’s when we got together with Andrea and Dave in Spruce Grove. Andrea didn’t even bring a jacket! Brave girl, what can I say?
We still had a rockin’ time though.
We headed over to a ravine where Andrea used to live by growing up.
Sigh… soon this view will be no more. It looks like they’re building a bunch of houses right on the other side of the tree line.
And we stopped at a playground. It’s hard to resist! They’re so fun!
Sunset and water seem to go so well together!
Thanks for braving the cold, guys! (My hands were so frozen I could barely operate the camera by the end)
Looking forward to the wedding!
It was one fine autumn day when I met up with Melissa and Paul for their e-shoot. Normally, there are no colourful leaves to speak of by this time, but given how amazing this year’s fall was, the city was gorgeous!
The sky was surprisingly pretty moody.
Love the cityscape!
And the river valley too!
So cute together!
Thanks for the fun day guys! You chose a really good one for the shoot! I hope the wedding is as friendly! hahaha
It was such a wonderful treat to shoot Marla and Chris’ wedding at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge! The season had changed to autumn, it was a very cold 3 degrees outside, but what a fantastic day! Anyhow I’ll let Marla do the talking:
Tell us about your venues:
We chose to get married in Jasper, a place close to both of our hearts. Before we even knew about each other’s existence, we had both developed a passion for the area. Quite unusual considering Chris is British and I am an Alberta girl. Who knows? Maybe our paths did cross somewhere on these mountains all those years ago?
What was the style or theme?
Our wedding was a mixture of themes. We hoped that it would express our unique life experiences and personalities. Chris wore his medals reflecting his past service with the British military and the awards he received from the Queen.
The Dress:
My Italian-made wedding dress was purchased in Geneva and reflected my style and personality perfectly: short and sassy!
Your Accessories:
A 1950’s pillbox hat originally from Saks 5th Ave completed the look and added a bit of fun to the day.
Groom, Groomsmen, and Bridesmaids attire:
What’s a wedding without a little drama? Chris’ best man Max’s suit never arrived from London. Thanks to a little help from the staff at Jasper Park Lodge, we borrowed a suit that fit- just in time for the ceremony! My brother Quinn, who stood beside me as my “maid of honour” spoke about the biblical context of marriage and successfully managed to match his ipad cover to the wedding flowers as well!
The Wedding Flowers:
Hope springs eternal and even at a fall wedding, the colour green inspires new life and new growth.
Your Details:
Our wedding cake in the shape of an Inukshuk; a stone landmark used for navigation and to provide direction and a feature my father likes to build in his gardens. This was a reminder that our direction is set together with an eye on the horizon.
Your Most Memorable Moment of the Day:
There were so many memorable moments but the best part was simply being married. Nothing else during the day mattered except becoming Mr and Mrs. I think you can see the joy in our eyes having finally completed the first step of our journey together.
And here are some other shots from the day!
Congratulations again Marla and Chris! Thank you for letting us be a part of your day! We really had SO much fun!
There’s no better way to spend a gorgeous fall day than shooting an awesome wedding with awesome people! Awesome people being, Laura and Alex!
The girls got ready at the very nice Sandman Signature.
Laura’s dress was awesome
Here she is getting laced into it…
The ceremony was beautiful
Then we did a quick group picture at the church. Two members of the wedding party were not able to make it, so Laura and Alex got life sized cardboard cutouts made of them. So we definitely had to get a group photos of them all. Can you spot the cardboard cutouts? hahaha
It was off to the U of A!
The season was certainly upon us! LOVE the colours of fall!
The guys play the game called, Toss Alex.
Laura and Alex have TOO much fun together!
Love this gorgeous road lined with trees!
The cake was awesome! Alex loves fishing.
Great times!
First Dance
Many miles away but still a big part of the party! Hahaha it was hilarious!
Rings!
And the party went on. It was an amazing night!
Congratulations, Laura and Alex! It was an amazing day with amazing people. You guys really know how to have a great time!
When we got together with the Lee family, it was perfect timing. The weather was beautiful and the autumn colours had JUST exploded! Considering Kristine booked the photoshoot date months in advance, it was amazing she nailed it so perfectly.
Like I said, the colours were amazing:
Zeke was having fun playing with his very tall shadow.
Birds!!!
And this is what I see in every family shoot with young children… parents chasing runaway kids. hahahaha
But Josh managed to catch them and bring them in for another family shot.
Taking a nice stroll…
…and sharing some laughs!
And of course, all kids love to be tossed in the air! (Provided they are caught on the way down)
And the happy parents!
It was fantastic to see you guys again! Can’t believe it’s been years since the wedding! You have a beautiful little family and I’m happy to have been able to hang out on a beautiful autumn evening!
We have a very special presentation of Keri and Adam! They are the first to take advantage of our Love Story engagement shoot add-on! This is like an e-shoot on steroids! In addition to the photos, it’s a fusion video of their own personal story! Over the last 12 years shooting weddings, I’ve found every single couple’s story to be either interesting, beautiful, funny, inspiring, or all of the above! Well, now we have the ability to share these awesome stories with you all too!
There isn’t much to explain about Keri and Adam that isn’t already in the video, so I’ll let the pictures and video do the talking! In the meantime, here are some photos from the shoot!
Be sure to watch the video below! It’s best viewed full screen, so click the icon first!

After their engagement shoot, I knew I was going to have a blast of a time with Lindsey and Chris. They are so fun to be around! Especially with Chris being an avid photographer himself, the photoshoot promised to be awesome. And it didn’t disappoint.
We also did something new for us. We set up a self-manned photobooth at the reception, which everyone seemed to really enjoy. Without supervision, people really let loose and had a great time with it.
Enough of me, here’s Lindsey!
Tell us about your venues:
Our ceremony was held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Spruce Grove. It’s a fairly new church, but has a lot of special meaning for both of us. We were both baptized in this parish. We also were the first graduating class from our high school to have our graduation at the new church. We couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else.
Our reception was at the Mayfield Inn and Suites. When we were looking around, we wanted to find a place that had classic elegance as well as great food – we found both there. We were able to transform the room into a classy, elegant but fun environment, which is exactly what we wanted.
What was the style or theme?
There wasn’t a particular theme, but we did want to throw in a lot of personal touches. We wanted there to be style and elegance, mixed with good times (such as the candy buffet). We also wanted to share with everyone some things they may not know about us, which is why we named each of our tables places that we have travelled together, and put pictures of each on them.
The Dress:
I never thought I would have “the moment” that brides speak of when they put their wedding dress on for the first time… but I totally did. My Maggie Sotterro dress was the 4th one I tried on that day, and it was amazing. I couldn’t believe how beautiful it made me feel. No other dress even came close. It fit my body well, and had just enough details to be stunning without being overwhelming.
Your Shoes, Jewelery, and Accessories:
I knew I had to have blue shoes… blue is my favourite colour, and it is one of the wedding colours. They were my “something blue”. I borrowed my sister’s earrings for the day, the same ones that she wore on her wedding day (my “something borrowed”). I felt my dress was the “something new”, and therefore I needed something old… so I decided to wear my gold bracelet that has a “sisters” charm on it. I gave my older sister the “big sis” charm the day before her wedding, and I kept the “little sis” charm for myself. We wore them on her wedding day, and I felt it only appropriate to wear it on mine. The charm may not be that old, but the sentiment behind it has been there my whole life.
Hair and Makeup:
My hair and makeup were done at my sister’s house the morning of the wedding. We had a team from Raw Salon in St. Albert come to the house. They were great, and it was nice to just keep relaxed. I wanted to go for a bit of a Taylor Swift updo, which turned out to be very romantic and pretty. I don’t often wear my hair up, but Chris loves it when I do. I wanted my makeup to be soft yet elegant, and I feel that they pulled off the perfect balance – I was very happy with it!
Groom, Groomsmen, and Bridesmaids attire:
Chris and his guys rented their suits from the Tuxedo house. My favourite colour is blue, and I knew that we had to incorporate that colour. The guys wore classic, elegant suits. The best part was that the groomsmen vests and ties matched the bridesmaids dresses, which were Alfred Angelo. I had the girls pick out any dress they liked, and this was one style that they all looked good in. Of course, our best woman wore black to match the guys, but had a splash of blue to tie in the theme. She was limited in her dress selection being 7 months pregnant, but she totally rocked it.
The Wedding Flowers:
Our flowers were amazing! I meet with Mayfield Flowers a few months before the wedding, and they were very accommodating! I knew I didn’t want blue flowers, so we decided on a variety of whites and greens. Then she combined magnolia leaves, which are brown on the back, to incorporate the brown colour of the wedding. They were stunning, and I had so many compliments from everyone about what a great job they did.
Your Details:
Our centerpieces fit our simple yet elegant style – two calla lillies in a slim, tall vase. Our florist added in the blue gems and lights, and with the mirrors they became very elegant.
The cake was one of my favourite details. I’m a veterinarian, and our pets our very important to us, so we decided to go with a pet theme. We found the Lady and the Tramp cake topper online and instantly knew we would have a creative, fun cake.
Our candy buffet was a huge smash – I’ve never seen so many adults go so crazy over candy in my life! It was completely gone halfway through the night! The candy doubled as our favours, and I think that most people loved it.
Of course, the final highlight was the photo booth. Everyone is still talking about those pictures, and how much fun they had! Lloyd, you did an amazing job of creating it and simply making our day the best day of our lives!
The Honeymoon:
Unfortunately we haven’t had time to go on a honeymoon, but hopefully in the near future we would like to go to Europe for a few weeks!
Your Most Memorable Moment of the Day:
My favourite moment was saying my vows. The priest took his microphone off and placed it in front of us, so that everyone could only hear us (and not what the priest was asking us to repeat). It brought out a lot of emotions, and really made the day all about our commitment to each other. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world, and am so happy that we are married!
Thanks Lindsey! We’re thrilled you had a great time and that you all enjoyed the photobooth. I had fun seeing all the silly photos afterwards. hahaha!
Back to the photos, here Lindsey is getting laced up.
I think it’s so adorable when the bride and groom share a happy moment during the ceremony.
This was Lindsey and Chris’ photo request. At their high school grad, they got a shot together at the Legislature just like this, so they wanted to re-enact it.
And the amazing bridal party!
Their happiness was contagious. They shared so many laughs all day.
Beautiful!
Then we went into the River Valley for some shots.
Gorgeous!
Then off to the reception to share some funny stories.
Lindsey’s sister made an absolutely hilarious slideshow/video.
And the first dance.
Lindsey and Chris, we appreciate how you made us feel so welcome and “part of the gang”. Lindsey, you looked so beautiful, and Chris, thanks for the many laughs!
