So long Tiburon

Thursday, April 29th, 2010
I have to admit, I'm a bit sad. Recently, my 2003 Hyundai Tiburon GS-R V6 was sold and the new owner is picking it up in a couple days.  I have to say, this car really is a hoot to drive.  It's the first car I've ever owned where I didn't want to change anything on it.  I liked how it looked, how it handled, and how it drove.  Usually, I nitpick about damping, spring rates, and wheel/tire sizes but not so in this case. How to Soothe a Fussy Baby… or Make it Worse: The Snuggle Puppy Effect

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010
Simon is a jolly funny little guy,  he also suffers from gastrointestinal reflux - pretty common stuff, but it means our lives are a bit more interesting.  He has to be elevated at all times, pukes a lot - sometimes with a 5 foot spread, and takes medicine daily.  The medicine has made a HUGE difference, but the dose is quickly outgrown and needs to be adjusted often. This means that he has pain, on top of all the throw-up and makes him a bit touchy.  He is full of smiles, but he has very clear opinions on what he DOES and does NOT like. For example:  He has a favourite book, it's called Snuggle Puppy.  He picked it when he was about 8… Read More

Why our Grooms Rock: Fair is Fair!

Monday, April 19th, 2010
Love is a 2-way street:  If she takes wedding photos with your fire truck, you take photos with her horse!  At least, that's what Jaclyn and Sebastian did.  Hey it was great fun for us too.  How often do you get to hang out in a fire hall taking photos, or at the stables shooting while walking through mud?  Any way you look at it, it was super fun and unique.  Don't be afraid to put some of your personalities into your photoshoot! Behind the scenes Shop Talk model portfolio shoot video

Friday, April 9th, 2010
I've been talking with a local model in regards to a shoot to update her portfolio. We had finally decided it was time to get it done, especially since the weather has warmed up a whole lot! I turned it into a "Shop Talk" experience by bringing along a couple of other shooters who wanted some insight into professional lighting. So we were joined by Jens (pronounced "Yentz") and Darryl (all the way from Ottawa!). We created a stop-motion video of the shoot that shows some of the differences in lighting techniques, and some of the problems we addressed. It might be a little nerdy for non-photographers, but it's still an interesting view into one… Read More

Here it is! A new and improved blog!

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010
I've been meaning to update my blog for about... ummm...  two years now?  But it's finally here and it's gonna be better than ever.  Yes, it's gotten a new URL and a facelift, but we're far more excited about the content we'll be bringing you!  The public has spoken and you said you wanted to see a little more than photoshoot after photoshoot.  So we are injecting some personality into the blog, and it will be updated much more often to make it a more interesting stop to your online strolls. So be sure to swing by more often than you previously might have, and don't be afraid to participate with your comments!  We've even added a "share"… Read More
