It was such a wonderful treat to shoot Marla and Chris' wedding at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge! The season had changed to autumn, it was a very cold 3 degrees outside, but what a fantastic day! Anyhow I'll let Marla do the talking: Tell us about your venues: We chose to get married in Jasper, a place close to both of our hearts. Before we even knew about each other's existence, we had both developed a passion for the area. Quite unusual considering Chris is British and I am an Alberta girl. Who knows? Jasper is my favourite place in the world! It's so gorgeous, and hasn't been over-commercialized. When Mandy contacted me to shoot her and Brandon's wedding in April, of course I jumped at the chance. But April in Jasper is a risky time; you have no idea what you'll get. Especially after this CRAZY winter we've had. Well, fortuned smiled upon Mandy and Brandon (and me too) as Jasper was beautiful with no snow in the forecast, with most of it already gone from the ground. I had the good fortune of attending the Canadian Imaging Conference at the gorgeous Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel just a few days ago. It was a fantastic event and very worthwhile! And then my fortunes doubled as I had to go directly from Banff to the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge to shoot a wedding right after the conference. I've never personally driven the road between Banff and Jasper, but I sure am glad I did! The scenery was breathtaking! Of course, I had to make a couple of stops for some photos. I was super excited for Carlene and Calvin's wedding as it was in my most favourite place to visit in the world... Jasper! To add to the gravy, it was at the Fairmont, which is always the gold standard of venues across the nation.

We started at the salon in the lodge, which did a fantastic job on the hair and makeup.



The dress was gorgeous.

I was very excited for this wedding. Jasper is probably one of my MOST favourite places on the planet, so when Donna and Jamie asked me to shoot it, I was all over it!

And it couldn't have been better! Sometimes for destination weddings, you don't meet the couple until wedding time and there's always a hint of fear your personalities may clash, but it was soon obvious that Jamie and Donna (here from New Zealand) were about as happy and nice as people could get! Score!
