I am Simon. I am... ONE!!! Yay!!!

Hello and Welcome! This is the first 2011 edition of the Monthly World Report by me, Simon!

First of all, Happy New Year! I hope 2010 was fantastic for all of you. It sure was for me; I was born! I can't believe it's already been a year! This was also a big month! I had a birthday party, my first Christmas, and got to see a record snowfall for Edmonton! So I'm sorry the report is a bit late; it's been really busy!

Anyhow, let's get right down to it!

This month, mommy and daddy decided to make my 1 year old portrait part of a cake smash!

The only problem is, I am a little too neat and didn't smash the cake. In fact, mommy and daddy had to smash and smear it for me. They're always making a mess. Sometimes I don't know how I put up with them!

For example, I always have to help them do laundry!

And then I never forget to closely inspect every recycled item.

This is mommy's paper recycling bin. I was inspecting it one morning when it fell over my head. Instead of helping me, daddy just kept laughing and grabbed his camera. I think I might fire him someday...

My hair is getting quite long! Long enough that it now needs to be blow dried. As you can see, it's still kinda wet after towel drying.

I still use the wrong end of the spoon. I still use the wrong hand to eat (i.e. the hand NOT holding the spoon).

Aside from punches, kicks, slaps, biting, skin twists, scratching, clubbing with a mallet, and headbutts, I learned a new way to injure daddy... eye gouging!

And then it was CHRISTMAS DAY!!!! I got some great books and toys!!!

Then we went on a beautiful Christmas walk in the ravine.

I got to meet my buddy, Eshan. Daddy hopes I don't cause NEARLY as much trouble as my daddy and Eshan's daddy did when they were young.

Ok really, I'm trying to eat. Can you get that outta my face?

Hey all y'all! It's Farmer Simon here! Got any crops that need to be smashed with a mallet?

This is my spinach smoothie. Looks gross, but I love it. I love my mustache even more! Hola... my name is Juan Carlos...

Here I am teaching mommy some modeling poses first thing in the morning. She might have some potential, but only under my expert tutelage.

I'm slowly getting better at putting the proper side of the spoon in my mouth!

We also went to one of my favourite places! West Edmonton Mall Fantasyland! I love the carousel!

And then I got to drive a dozer at light speed! It was awesome!

I was such an expert at working the bucket lever! Maybe someday I can teach mommy and daddy if they're good.

And then daddy put me on a FORKLIFT??? Seriously? C'mon daddy. I'm a dozer driver, forklifts are totally not my thing. I was NOT impressed. Get with the program.

I've been starting to learn to brush my teeth on my own. I think I do a great job but I don't think mommy agrees, as she always has to redo everything. I think it's because the electronic toothbrush is too heavy. I have my own baby toothbrush, but of course, I refuse to use anything that mommy and daddy wouldn't use.

Then a HUGE thing happened! I turned ONE! YAY!!!! For Koreans, there are three BIG birthdays... 100 days, 1 year, and 60 years. So we got our family together and had a party! One of the traditions is the "Toljabee". What happens is they lay out a bunch of objects representing different paths in life. The object I choose first (and second) determine what paths I'm interested in.  So this is the list of objects and their respective meanings:

crayons - artistic money - business pen - writer calculator - technical book - academic/scholar kazoo - musical ball - athletics glove - healthcare (mommy added this one in because she's convinced I want to be a dentist)

So as you can see, I picked the pen first! And for my second choice, I picked the ball. Everyone decided that means I'll be a sports writer. Daddy and mommy are excited because that could mean I can get them Edmonton Oilers hockey tickets!

And here we are right after the Toljabee. And yes, we all look very tired. hahaha

So there you have it! I am now ONE! yay!!! I'd like to say thanks to all my fans; it's been an awesome year! Looking forward to another great one!

So a Happy new year to everybuddy! Please say hello below!
